Annual Test of History and the Social Sciences

Post by The Prez on Thu Feb 25, 2010 6:50 pm

March is next week and that means that it is once again time for the Annual Test of History and the Social Sciences!!!!! So let me just go over what the test is all about to inform new members who don't know what this is.

So in 2007 I created the Quiz of Essential Knowledge, but I didn't do much with it. Then in 2008 I renamed it and posted it to the forum. Alex Clifton won our 1st Annual Competition. Max Lustig was a close second, followed ever so closely by Ryan Dohn. All in all it was within 5 points all around. Last year in the 2nd Test, Alex once again claimed victory holding 19 points over Dohn (who came in second). Lustig was third.

So here it comes starting next week. 100 Questions. If you want to participate, sign up now and we'll get this show on the road. Good Luck All!

I doubt that this will play to my strengths at all, but I'll give it a shot.

I believe I have boycotted this through sheer not looking at it the last two years. The answers in order are Ackbar, Mughal, and Traps

I'm in, although don't expect me to win once more, as the Social Sciences are definitely Not My Thing and I know absolutely nothing on Sociology/psych/geography. Also, I will suck at the bonuses.
Whysomany questions on art history, out of curiosity? That's 30% of your humanities right there.

Also, my AP US notes are hiding in a box, and I gave all my AP Euro and AP Gov notes to Sari. And she's not even doing AP Gov this year because she had to drop it. Hmmph, lol.

I took a crapload of AP Gov notes. My handwriting was tiny. Dana Kaiser can attest to this (as can Jiyoon and Ryan, and Sari, if she's bothered to look at my notes). It was basically everything on the powerpoints because I'm lazy and don't waste ink.

(Said the girl who printed two copies of her novel.)

I took about a half of a Five Star notebook worth of notes in that class. I remember my hand feeling like it was going to fall off after several lectures.

I don't remember if I took notes or not. If I did, it wasn't very much. I think I started taking notes originally, and then I realized it was online, even though I never checked them.
