In the current United States there is only ONE state that has only had ONE Republican Senator, and there is only ONE state that has had only ONE Democratic Senator. Name them and if you wish, the lone senator

Hawaii for the GOP one.

Hawaii is correct. Only Hiram Fong has served as a Republican Senator

Alaska is wrong. Alaska has had pretty much equal numbers of Republicans and Democrats. Sarah Palin and Ted Stevens have made Alaska to look out to be Republican, but while it is a conservative state nationally, its state government is moderate, like New York to some extent. It should also be noted that Mark Begich is a Democrat currently serving in the US Senate from Alaska. Of another note, Eisenhower initially was against admitting Alaska to the union, because he feared they would vote Democrat. They did elect Democrats to the Senate and Governor's seats, but nationally they went Republican.

Colorado- Udall and Bennet are both Democrats
Connecticut- Dodd is a Democrat, Lieberman WAS a Democrat

Bernie Sanders has some socialist views, yes. But he is an Independent, hence Leahy is the ONE and ONLY Democrat.

Note: Neither Gregg nor Shaheen of NH are socialist
